I’m Katy Sherwood, the photographer behind Gait & Glory. Based in Arizona, I specialize in capturing dogs in a way that’s true to who they are — playful, bold, curious, and deeply bonded with their people.


My love for dogs runs deeper than just photography. I live and breathe the canine world, from training my own Giant Schnauzer to competing in sports and exploring the outdoors together. That background gives me a unique perspective. I know how to read dogs, I know how to anticipate their movement, and I know how to create an experience that’s safe, relaxed, and fun.

There are many photographers who take photos of pets, but my focus is on dog photography that feels alive and unforgettable. I want every client to walk away with images that reflect more than a portrait. They tell the story of an adventure and the bond between dog and human.

  • Signature and Journey Sessions offer space and time to create variety, from action shots to quiet portraits.
  • I also offer Travel Sessions through my Wander List, which are unique opportunities to join me in destinations like the Redwoods of California, the beaches of Oregon, and the Wasatch mountains of Utah.


WHY I PHOTOGRAPH DOGS


Every dog I’ve ever met has taught me something new. They’re companions, teammates, and family. My late Giant Schnauzer, Hossa, inspired me to step behind the camera in the first place. My current dog, Cowboy, pushes me to keep exploring, learning, and creating. Photography has become my way of celebrating those bonds and giving others lasting memories of theirs.
